After an event organized in Luxembourg from which we wanted to donate the profits to an association supporting girls’ education, and a first visit to Happy Chandara in 2011, we all wanted to do more, hence the creation of the Luxembourg branch. Personally, I am delighted to be able to play a role on the Paris board of directors.

It’s a great adventure that makes you feel like you are doing something good, something useful. Also the realization that it’s also like an inner journey that made me understand a lot about life.

As the mother to two daughters, I immediately embraced the humanitarian values defended by Toutes à l’école.
It was first as a volunteer for an event organized in 2013 that I started to get involved. I then became a sponsor of a student who is now in secondary school.
The years spent with the charity have solidified my membership because it is also the adventure of a team united around a common project, the education of these young girls.
This commitment was further strengthened when we visited Happy Chandara as a family. To see the desire to learn that emanates from these female students is the best stimulus to continue to grow the Toutes à l’école project.

The Toutes à l’école adventure began with a story of friendship. I was very close to Anne Contreras, with whom I worked at Arendt. She kept telling me about this charity she was setting up and their project to educate underprivileged young girls in Cambodia. As a woman trying to find her place in the world of lawyers where access to the company§ remains predominantly male, I was seduced by the idea of supporting young girls to give them all their chances of having a bright future and all the weapons to access elite positions in their country.

I got involved with the charity by helping the team on the legal side, then as a volunteer on the organization of various events. When the employees of the Arendt group decided to sponsor an entire class, I obviously joined the cause. Then with two friends, we also decided to sponsor a little student.

The visit to Happy Chandara was a real eye-opener for me. Supporting the charity in Luxembourg is one thing, but going to Cambodia, meeting the students, the teaching staff, seeing all that we have been able to put in place thanks to the association gives even more meaning to our action and has strengthened my conviction and my commitment.

When I was the editorial director of Marie Claire, I was confronted with the terrible condition of women in many countries around the world: every week, a photojournalist presented me with a topic on domestic violence, honor crimes …

I knew the immense responsibility of ignorance and obscurantism. But how can mentalities be changed, if not through education? Hence my desire to turn to the education of girls, the best way in my eyes to make the world of tomorrow fairer and more human

As the mother of 2 girls and a boy, it seems essential to me to allow access to education without difference of gender or social level.

After attending a presentation of the Association in 2013, I got involved in this beautiful project and had the chance to visit the school, to meet our sponsee and to see the impact of our action on the ground.

For me, getting involved with Toutes à l’école Luxembourg is obvious. Female illiteracy was a part of my childhood. My mom kept telling me “education is the key to being able to make choices.”

Helping the daughters and families of Happy Chandara is for me the opportunity to allow a generation of women to choose their destiny.

My involvement with the association is recent. It follows a first trip to Cambodia and a first visit to the school 3 years ago. My wife and I are the sponsors of two little girls, two sisters now aged 9 and 10. After various exchanges by mail, we were keen to meet them, to get to know them and their parents. On our return, convinced of the relevance of the cause, impressed by the scale of the achievements but also deeply touched by the will, the joy of living, the desire to learn from the little girls we met, I decided to invest myself more.
